Tuition, Fee &#038; Scholarships Kyushu University Friendship Scholarship Kyushu University Friendship Scholarship&#8221; is Kyushu University&#8217;s own support program for privately financed international students. The scholarship is available to &#8220;Special Auditing Students&#8221;, &#8220;Special Research Students&#8221;, and &#8220;Double Degree Program Students&#8221; who have few opportunities to apply for scholarships. If you wish to receive this scholarship, please contact and apply for it through your prospective host department at Kyushu University. Main requirements for receiving the scholarship (1) Those who do not have Japanese nationality (2) Applicants must be a student at an overseas university and your host status in the department or school of Kyushu University is one of the following &#8211; International students under inter-university exchange agreements (special auditing students, special research students) &#8211; International students under inter-departmental exchange agreements (special auditing students, special research students) &#8211; International students under double degree agreements (double degree program students) &#8211; International students from universities without student exchange agreements (special auditing students, special research students) (3) Acceptance in Japan must begin within the academic year. The period of stay must be either 3 months, 5 months (1 semester), or 11 months (2 semesters). (4) Those who are unable to study in Japan solely at their own expense due to financial reasons. (5) Those who are certain to obtain &#8220;Student&#8221; status of residence when studying at Kyushu University. (6) After completing their studies at Kyushu University, students must return to their home university to continue their studies and obtain a degree or graduate from their home university (those who are scheduled to withdraw or be expelled, and those who graduate or complete a regular course of study during their studies at Kyushu University are not eligible). (7) Applicants must have excellent academic records and character, and a grade evaluation coefficient of 2.30 or higher (on a 3-point scale) for the previous year at the time of selection at the applicant&#8217;s home institution (evaluation coefficient based on a calculation method specified by the Japan Student Services Organization). (8) If the applicant receives other scholarships, the monthly amount of the scholarship (or the monthly equivalent of the total amount if the applicant receives scholarships from multiple organizations, etc.) will not exceed 80,000 yen. Application Period There are two recruitment periods in a fiscal year. Period I: Scholarship recipients who will begin their studies at Kyushu University between April and September will be recruited around February through their host departments at Kyushu University. Term II: Scholarship recipients who will begin their studies at Kyushu University between October and March will be recruited around May through their host departments at Kyushu University.
