Such restricts are well known as Vertical Restraints in market distribution. By carrying out this Vertical Restraints a maker adds service to the products concerned, or has strong involvement in them about the price and quality of new products which the dealer sales. When "asymmetric information" exists in a market, in order to cope with it, many Vertical Restraints like resale price maintenance (RPM) are carried out. In this paper, we take up the problems of a free-rider hypothesis among two hypotheses of RPM in market distribution. Firstly, we clarify the purpose and effectiveness of RPM.
