In Chile I obtained my Civil Engineer professional degree and worked as a project engineer in a small firm for 4 years, in 2016 I was one of the 5 people in my country to obtain the Monbukagakusho scholarship that allowed me to come to Sendai and study master and PhD courses in Tohoku University.  I love living in Sendai, I think it has a very clean environment and it has the perfect size for a city, not too big nor too small. I believe that it is of utmost importance not only to avoid leaving contaminated areas unattended, but also to restore areas that have been contaminated in the past by industrial activities due to ignorance or malicious intent. To further this research, I left my home country and came to Japan to continue my studies and contribute to this field.
