Research summary Sociology of religion as a social thought Study is made on the theory of sociology of religion from the aspect of social thought, such as publicness and free market. Study shall be conducted on how the theory of social evolution that proved to be popular globally since the end of the 19th century, has influenced the theory of religion in modern China and Japan, as a case where the understanding of religion has developed historically, as a social thought.
