Hold the Privately-Funded International Student Orientation (Beginning of April) We hold an orientation with the goal of helping students to adapt quickly to a new environment, and to socialize and interact among themselves, we explain various necessary procedures to all international students who come to DWCLA. Orientation Contents • International Affairs Office Introduction • Passport • Confirm residence status • Explanation of legal procedures related to residence in Japan (residence status, residence notification, participation in National Health Insurance) • Application for permission for activities outside of the residence status • Application for tuition fee reduction • Scholarship introduction (on/off campus) • National Health Insurance premium subsidy for international students Applying for Foreign Resident Status There are a number of legal procedures necessary for foreigners to stay in Japan. These procedures are very important for guaranteeing the status of students staying in Japan. Legal Procedures During Stay (The Immigration Services Agency began an email delivery service in March 2021. This service provides the latest updates on study abroad support and measures against coronavirus infections.
