The first digit of a course identifies its level. Courses numbered 1000 - 1999 are appropriate for undergraduate students in their second year of study. Courses numbered 2000 - 2999 are appropriate for undergraduate students in their second year of study. Courses numbered 3000 - 4999 are appropriate for undergraduate students in their third and fourth years of study. Course levels indicate how challenging students may expect to find courses. Students are encouraged, and in some cases required, to take courses at their appropriate level of study. Some courses are restricted to students at certain years only. Students should contact academic advisors for registration details. [Japanese Language Courses] Courses numbered 1000 - 1999 are elementary level. Courses numbered 2000 - 2999 are intermediate level. Courses numbered 3000 - 3999 are advanced level. For all Japanese Language Courses, students must follow appropriate course sequences and placement assessment procedures. [Other Classifications] 0900 - 0999 Remedial and College-High School Joint Programs: Students are responsible for confirming how these courses count toward their graduation requirements. xxx0 Special Lectures: Regularly-scheduled courses (not independent study) offered with variable content and repeatable for credit. Xx82 Internship: Pre-professional experiential traineeships arranged by students with sponsor organizations. These may include experiences with a research component or special concentration in an area relevant to the student’s study and career path.
