In particular, it supports international joint research and development activities to realize early technology dissemination and overseas market development for deep tech startups that wish to conduct joint research and development with overseas businesses in order to expand into overseas markets. [How to support] In supporting joint research and development activities (open innovation) between Japanese business operators and partner country business operators, NEDO collaborates with overseas research and development and innovation support organizations (public support organizations) to provide funds to Japanese business operators while the partner country organizations provide funds to their business operators under the co-funding scheme. Target of support [1] Applicants must be unlisted Japanese small and medium-sized companies with their main research and development bases in Japan, or Japanese business operators represented by such companies and be joined by other companies, research institutes, universities, and so on. [2] Applicants must have an expected international joint research and development project with business operators from a partner country. Details of support [Project period to be supported] About two to four years [Subsidy amount] The maximum subsidy amount is 100 million yen per project. The subsidy amount shall be within two-thirds of the total project cost.
