We welcomed 455 new students, including 34 undergraduate students, 361 graduate students, and 60 students for JTW and JLCC.  At the beginning of the ceremony, President Ishibashi extended words of welcome to the new students. He said, " We now became fellow compatriots to explore the world of knowledge. Your voyage of your study with your diligence will lead you to a bright future, and we will always be the guide and support. In these uncertain and challenging times, I hope all of you will keep an eye on the state of the world as you start your journey to fulfill your academic aims. I wish you all good luck."  Next, four students gave speeches on behalf of the new students: Mr. Prithu Menon,  School of Agriculture, Mr. Tan Ingram, Graduate School of Engineering, and Ms. Maakni Linisa, JTW. In their speeches, they expressed their gratitude for the welcome and aspirations for their student life. The ceremony, featuring representation from around the world, concluded on a positive note. New student representative address by Mr. Prithu Menon, School of Agriculture New student representative address by Mr. Tan Ingram, Graduate School of Engineering Greetings by Ms. Maakni Linisa of JTW, representative of the Short-Term Study Abroad Program for Foreign Students (*1) Japan in Today's World Program (JTW): A Short-term study abroad course for international students at the undergraduate level for 10 months or one semester. Courses on contemporary Japanese society, economy, and culture are offered in English. (*2) Japanese Language and Culture Course (JLCC): An 11-month course For undergraduate students majoring in Japanese language or Japanese studies at universities in Asia, Europe, or the United States. This course is designed to improve their Japanese language skills and deepen their understanding of Japanese society and culture.
