Setup Steps 2-5 (Gravity-Send Type & Sand Location-Blow Pressure) Video demonstrates Step 2 “Gravity”, Step 3 “Sand type” , Step 4 “Sand location” and Step 5 “Blow pressure” of 10 setup steps in Arena-flow®, explains how to add direction of Gravity, Select sand(s) or additives for simulation, add sand initial sand location and adding blow pressure. Setup Step 6 (Vents Definition) Video demonstrates Step 6 “Vents definition”” of 10 setup steps in Arena-flow®, shows how to manually add vents in Arena-flow and use the vent table. Setup Steps 7-10 (Time Control-Models & Data Output-Run) Video demonstrates Step 7 “Time control”, Step 8 “Models” , Step 9 “Data output” and Step 10 “Run”, explains how to adjust time, change variables such as flow ability, add flux planes and sand color, “Run” simulation. Filling This video showing “Filling” result shows particles being dragged into and filling the cavity, once an area exceeds a 50% ratio between particles and air, the appearance changes from a “particle” display to a “solid / isovolume” display. Color scale represents Sand to Air ratio as (1/100%) With this Arena-flow® result you can extract useful information such as, fill pattern, last to fill areas potential soft areas or even areas not filling, get an estimate on how much time would be needed to fill the cavity based on current on machine settings such as blow time and blow pressure. View Density The Cells p-dens result in Arena-flow® gives you, quick access when wanting to easily identify soft areas in the core as they would show up as blue, the darker blue indicates softest areas, green being the mean value and orange to purple indicate high density areas, which commonly are found directly underneath blow tubes. This Arena-flow® result is also very helpful when looking for density variations through critical areas of a core, as  high variations in density could be a potential for a weaker core, that could potentially break down too early during casting, in worse cases even break during handling, or have a potential for metal penetration. Color scale can be set to match a weight in cell (kg/m3) range, with the median value of 1590 (kg/m3) ~ 60(%) compacted as this is our rule of thumb for a dense core in Arena-flow® Sand Speed Similar to “Filling” this Arena-flow® result shows particles as they enter a cavity, yet in this case the particles are colored by speed, blue indicates resting or slow moving particles, purple indicates fast moving particles. This result is very useful when looking to determine if there is enough energy in the system to ensure a good core quality, particles moving <  0.2 (m/s) will not contribute to further compaction in those areas. Another observation from this Arena-flow® result when looking at cope vents can be to look at how fast the sand hits and rests at a cope vent as fast moving particles turning blue at the cavity / vent interface indicates a higher risk of sand sticking to the vent and possibly creating a vent scar or cope sticker along with reduced airflow at an early stage during blow.
