The demonstrations are carried out in international energy markets that have more advanced energy policies in place in order for Japan to gain meaningful results. Through these efforts, NEDO makes contributions to the promotion of Japan's energy-related industries, domestic and international energy transition and decarbonization, and Japan’s energy security. Project pamphlet (Available only in Japanese) This project is composed of the following four phases: [1] basic study, [2] feasibility study, [3] demonstration, and [4] follow-up, and the four phases are carried out under a single theme. An entity to carry out [1] is selected through a public solicitation. A committee composed of external experts reviews each phase and decides whether or not to move from [1] to [2] and from [2] to [3]. Whether or not to implement [4] is determined on a case-by-case basis. NEDO’s subsidy rates are as follows: [1] 100%; [2] and subsequent phases 1/2 for large companies, 2/3 for small and medium-sized enterprises/venture companies.
